The Saints made quick work of Hillsborough Community College in both the games of the doubleheader, winning 11-0 and 14-0. In game one the Saints used an eight-run third inning to propel themselves to an 11-0 win in a five-inning game. The Saints scored one in the first and two in the fifth to total the count. Karris Rhine led SF at the plate going 2-3 scoring three runs and driving in two. Rhine had a triple and homerun in the game. McKenzie Jewell, Olivia LaMeau, and Rylie Blankenship all had two hits on the afternoon. Madison Conway and Jazmyn Thompson both drove in two runs. Ryleigh Bauer had a great start for SF going 5.0 innings allowing just one hit and striking out six.
In game two the Saints scored 14 runs on their way to their second win in a row. A big first inning for Santa Fe put them in front 5-0 before a three-run second inning propelled Santa Fe to an 8-0 lead headed to the fifth inning. The Saints scored six runs in the fifth to ensure their run-rule victory in Tampa. Brooke Markiewicz led the Saints at the plate going 3-4 with three runs scored and three runs batted in. Rhine, LaMeau, and Camryn VanGalder all had two base hits. VanGalder also drove in three runs. Ryleigh Bennett went 3.0 innings allowing two hits and striking out three. Belle Mancillas went 1.0 innings allowing one hit, and Alexi Daphney pitched the final inning allowing one hit and striking out two batters.
In the doubleheader the Saints combined for 25 runs, allowing zero. The pitching staff allowed five hits in 10 innings pitched.
Santa Fe is back in action on Saturday when the Saints host FSW for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM.
