
Saints Sweep St. Petersburg
Santa Fe played host to St. Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon in Gainesville.

The Saints were able to run rule St. Petersburg in both games of the afternoon, winning game one 10-2. St. Petersburg was able to get on the board first with a two-run top half of the first. The Saints responded with a solo homerun from Karris Rhine in the home half. Santa Fe went on to score six runs in the second to extend the lead. A solo run in the fourth made it 8-2. Madison Conway hit a two-run walk off homerun in the fifth to give the Saints a walk off win.
Rhine and Conway had a great day at the plate combining for three homeruns, six runs batted in, and five runs scored. Conway had two homeruns in the game. Rhine and McKenzie Jewell both hit doubles on the afternoon. Ryleigh Bauer got the start going all five innings allowing three hits, two runs (one earned run), and struck out three.
In game two the Saints scored nine in the first inning to win 12-2. After the nine run first, the Saints gave up two runs in the fourth. A three-run bottom of the fourth put the run rule into effect as the Saints swept the day.
Conway and Jewell carried the offense providing five RBI and four runs scored. Conway finished 2-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. Belle Mancillas went 1-1 with two RBI. Ryleigh Bennett started the game in the circle for SF going 3.0 innings walking two and striking out three in no hit fashion. St. Petersburg recorded their first hit against Mancillas who pitched one innings and allowing two hits and two runs (one earned run). Alexis Daphney finished the game with 1.0 innings pitched not allowing a hit.
The Saints have a week off before being back in action on Tuesday April 22nd. The Saints will travel to the College of Central Florida for a 2:00 PM first pitch.
