
Saints Win Streak Moves to Five
Santa Fe made the short trip to the College of Central Florida for a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.

In game one of the doubleheader the Saints knocked off CF 9-4. The Saints started the scorin gin the top of the first inning with a solo run. Central Florida answered back in the bottom half with two runs of their own. The Saints then scored three in the top of the second inning before another run in the fourth. A four-run fifth inning helped SF extend their lead to 9-2. The Patriots scored two runs in the sixth, but could not rally for any in the seventh, as the Saints held on for the win.
Karrish Rhine and FCSAA Player of the week, Madison Conway, both had three hits in game one. Rhine was 3-5 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBI. Conway went 3-4 with a homerun, two runs scored, and five RBI. Brooke Markiewicz reached base three times, going 1-2 with two walks. Ryleigh Bennett started for the Saints in the circle going 5.0 innings. Bennett allowed four hits, two runs (one eanred run), while walking five and striking one out. Ryleigh Bauer came in relief for SF going 2.0 innings allowing just one hit and two earned runs. Bauer struck out two and walked one.
In game two the Saints fell behind early, but battled back to force extra innings. The Saints used a six-run ninth inning to propel to a 9-3 win. Central Florida scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Pats held the 3-0 lead until the saints scored one in the top of the fourth inning. In the top of the sixth inning SF scored two more to tie the game at 3-3. Santa Fe then piled it on CF in the ninth inning with six unanswered runs for the extra inning victory.
Rhine and Conway both had three hits in game two, while McKenzie Jewell had two hits. Rhine was 3-5 with two RBI and one run scored. Conway was 3-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Jewell was 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Camryn VanGalder added two hits from the bottom part of the lineup. Belle Mancillas started in game two going 4.0 innings allowing six hits and three earned runs. Mancillas walked one and struck one out. Alexis Daphney finished the game going 5.0 innings allowing four hits. Daphney walked five and struck out three.
The Saints are back in action on Saturday at Indian River State College. Game one of the doubleheader is set to begin at 1:00 PM in Fort Pierce.
