Marianna, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (2-1) faced off against a tough Chipola team on the road Friday in Marianna, falling to the Indians 71-30. Chipola jumped out to a 39-15 lead at the break and continued their suffocating defensive pressure in the second half for the 41 point victory.
"We didn't hold our composure very well tonight," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins. "We turned it over way to often and were outrebounded, two things we discussed prior to this game. We said we had to do well in those areas and we didn't. We don't have long to recover from this one, and we will have to play much better tomorrow against Gulf Coast."
Sonya Franklin led a SF offense that never got off the ground with five points and three other players scored four.
The Saints will be right back at it on Saturday in Marianna against Gulf Coast State College at 2:00 PM CST. The game will take place at the Chipola College gymnasium.
