Ocala, FL – Santa Fe freshman Sonya Franklin led a potent Santa Fe offense Friday evening in Ocala, leading the Saints past St. Petersburg College 89-81 on the first day of the Central Florida Classic.
The Saints (3-2) started fast and led 53-37 over the Titans at the halftime break. In the second half the lead ballooned to nearly 30 before St. Pete began to fight back, trimming it to eight before running out of time.
Franklin led the way with 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals, Ashley Perry scored a season high 15 points and eight rebounds, Tatianna Manuel had 10 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks, and Kayla Lovett had nine points and 10 assists.
The Saints continue in the CF Classic on Saturday against Broward College at 2:00 PM.
