Ocala, FL – On what was a rough shooting night for both teams, the Central Florida Patriots did just enough to earn their sixth straight Mid-Florida Conference win Wednesday evening, defeating the Santa Fe Saints in Ocala, 50-42.
The Saints (10-11, 1-4 MFC) shot just 22.7% from the field, but held the Patriots to 20.5%. The difference in the game came at the free throw line where CF outscored Santa Fe 17-10.
Tatiana Manuel was a force in the paint for SF, blocking 10 shots while holding Central Florida leading scorer Thais Oliveira to just 11 points. Despite the Strong defensive effort, the Saints were never able to get it going offensively and fell by to the first place Patriots by eight.
