Gainesville, FL – The Daytona State College Falcons were firing on all cylinders Saturday afternoon on Gainesville, grabbing an early lead before defeating the Santa Fe Saints 85-61.
The Falcons used a full court press to force 16 first half turnovers, helping stake themselves to a 44-26 lead. They would force 14 more in the second half to thwart any Santa Fe rallies.
Sonya Franklin had a solid offensive game for the Saints (10-12, 1-6 MFC), scoring 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting. Karrah Johnson finished with a double double, scoring 12 points to go with 10 rebounds.
Monterika Warren led the Falcons with 25 points, and Brittany Chambers had 24.
The Saints will travel to Hillsborough CC on Wednesday, February 4 for a 6:00 PM game against the Hawks.
