Central Florida Rallies Past Santa Fe, 70-65
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints led by 12 at the half and by as many as 16 in the second half, but a late rally by Central Florida kept the Patriots on top of the Mid-Florida Conference as they defeated SF 70-65.

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints led by 12 at the half and by as many as 16 in the second half, but a late rally by Central Florida kept the Patriots on top of the Mid-Florida Conference as they defeated SF 70-65.
CF guard Quira Demery dominated the second half, scoring a team high 22 points, going 6-of-7 from the field and 10-of-11 from the free throw line after not attempting a shot in the first half.
The Saints were firing on all cylinders in the first half, using an 11-0 run to go ahead 23-13 with eight minutes to go. CF fought back to cut it to a five point margin, but SF came back at them, pushing the lead to a game high 14 at the break, 42-28.
Santa Fe started the second half on the right foot as well, leading by 16 at the 19:23 mark. The next 12 minutes were a different story as the patriots proceeded to go on a 28-10 run, led by Demery, to take their first lead since the opening moments of the game.
The score was back and forth until the five minute mark when Central Florida took the lead for good and held on for the five point win.
The victory moves CF to 23-5 overall and 9-1 in the Mid-Florida Conference. The Saints drop to 11-14 and 2-8 in MFC play.
Brianca Roberts led SF with 15 points, all by way of the three point shot, and Kayla Lovett scored 14, and Sonya Franklin had 11.
Santa Fe will hit the road on Wednesday, February 18 against Daytona State College at 6:00 PM, and wind up their season on February 21 at home against Hillsborough CC at 2:00 PM.
