Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe played well on the second day of the Palm Beach Classic on Saturday afternoon, defeating Wallace State Community College in convincing fashion, 71-49, to move to 6-8 on the season.
"I'm proud of our bounce back from yesterday," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins. "We took good care of the ball, played unselfishly, and had our defense lead the way."
The SSF defense was the name of the game, as they held their opponent to under 50 points for the third time this season. The second quarter was the best of the bunch, when the Saints clamped down, and surrendered just six points to Wallace, closing out a half where they allowed just 18, and lead by 20 at the break.
In the second half the SF defense was up to the task again, limiting the Lions to 31 points, closing out the 22 point win.
Bri Roberts lead the Saints in scoring for the second straight day with 13, Ari Emanuel-Wright had 12, and Rayven Wade added 11.
Santa Fe will finish out the Palm Beach Classic on Sunday against the hosts, Palm Beach State COlege at 11:00 AM.
