Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints picked up right where they left off last night, scoring 92 points on 55.6% shooting to defeat East Georgia State College by 19 points.
The Saints (2-0) made 15 three pointers, including a 6-for-6 effort from Stephanie Jackson and a 5-for-7 day for Brianna Richardson. As a team SF shot 57.7% from behind the arc.
Santa Fe came out of the gates hot, leading 21-11 at the end of the first quarter, and expanded their lead at halftime to 50-31. The two teams played even through the final two 10 minute periods, securing the victory for the Saints.
Four players scored in double figures for Coach Chanda Stebbins and SF, led by 27 from Richardson and 22 from Jackson. Janasia Law and Julie Fournier had 10 points each.
Santa Fe had 27 assists and 12 steals, forcing 17 turnovers. Law led the team defensively with seven steals.
SF will be back at home on Tuesday, November 7 against Tallahassee at 5:30 p.m.
