Eagles soar past Saints, 87-51
The Defending National Champion Tallahassee Community College Eagles wasted little time in taking the Santa Fe Saints out of the game Tuesday night in the Capital City resulting in an 87-51 win.
The Eagles (7-0) jumped out to a commanding 35-13 lead after the first quarter and were never threatened the rest of the way.
"We saw what the national championship level is today," said SF Head Coach Chanda Stebbins. "We didn't handle their press very well and had a lot of turnovers as a result. We also reverted back to some previous mistakes like not finishing around the bucket and making free throws. We have a week to reset and get back together."
Danasia Bogle and Rhea Smith led the Saints in scoring with 10 apiece. Keaubree Edwards pulled down 10 rebounds to go with eight points. Daisha Bradford led TCC with 22 points.
The Saints (4-4) are off until Thursday November 29 when they take on Miami-Dade State College in the first day of The Florida Colleges Women's Basketball Shootout held at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Ft. Myers.
