Saints Victorious Over Daytona State College, 65-50
The home crowd came out and cheered from start to finish as the Saints secured the Mid-Florida Conference title with a win against the Daytona State College Falcons Wednesday, February 13.
The game was in favor of the Saints who controlled the tempo and energy early on in the first quarter, tying the score at 7-7 six minutes into the game and never looked back.
Saints head coach Chanda Stebbins said, "I'm very proud of this team. A conference championship is special and this group has earned it."
Knowing the importance of the game, the Saints showed cohesiveness and tenacity. "It was truly a team effort as everyone brought something to the table," Stebbins continued, "I really thought the team bought into the scouting report and did a great job of defensive execution."
Janasia Law led all scorers with 23 points including four three-pointers to accompany her eight assists. Stephanie Jackson and Camille Pringle also contributed nine points each towards the win.
The Saints (18-7, 7-1 MFC) finish the regular season on the road Wednesday, February 20 at College of Central Florida with a 6 p.m. game.
