Saints Notch Win Against DME Academy
The Saints women's basketball team set the tone early and won against DME Academy at home 87-58 on Friday, November 22.
The Saints dominated DME on the scoreboard that carried through each quarter of the game. At one instance the Saints carried a 42-point margin with just under five minutes left in regulation.
"It was a good win for us against a team full of players that will play at the next level," said Saints head coach Chanda Stebbins.
Although SF controlled the offense, the team had stints of play Stebbins felt could be better.
"We need to take better care of the ball – too many turnovers against a team not pressing us. The intensity needs to be consistent as DME finished the game on a 10-0 run," said Stebbins.
Zoé Alexander and Lauren Carmona lead the Saints with 12 points each. Rosalee Nicholson and Danasia Bogle each contributed 10 points in the win.
Stebbins added, "We had contributions from many different people tonight."
The Saints (3-4, 0-0 MFC) host Chipola College in doubleheader action at home on Tuesday, November 26 for a 5:30 p.m. start. Men's basketball host Florida Gateway College later that evening at 7:30 p.m.
