Saints Keep Pace at Top of MFC with 81-54 Win Over FSCJ
Danasia Bogle led five players in double figures with 19 points and Zoe Alexander had a college career high with 14 rebounds to complete a double-double and lead the Saints to an 81-54 win over Florida State College – Jacksonville.
"It is nice to see Zoe turn into a rebounder," said SF head coach Chanda Stebbins. "As a team we are learning more and more each game about playing together. I think we are realizing the payoff for hard work in practice."
The Saints jumped out to an early eight-point lead but didn't push it to double figures until a basket by Aleisha Curry gave the Saints a 22-11 lead at the start of the second quarter. SF outscored FSC-J 28-10 in the second period to take a commanding 48-21 lead into the half.
"We shared the ball well and rebounded well," said Stebbins. The Saints out rebounded the Blue Wave 67 to 17 for the game.
After Bogle's 19, Curry and Rosalee Nicholson each had 13 while Alexander scored 11 and Camille Pringle had 10.
The Saints (15-10, 5-1 Mid-Florida Conference remain in a tie for first place in the conference with Daytona State, but Stebbins focus is on Saturday's opponent.
"We are not thinking about anyone except the next opponent," said Stebbins "That happens to be CF on Saturday."
The Saints will host the Patriots at 2 pm at the SF gymnasium.
