Saints Women Continue to Roll with 95-76 Win
The Santa Fe Saints won their ninth game in a row as Aleisha Curry controlled the paint with 20 points, 19 rebounds and three blocked shots to lead Sf to a 95-76 win over DME Academy Saturday afternoon.
"We did good job of adjusting our energy level to start the game," said SF head coach Chanda Stebbins. "Curry rebounded very well and played hard."
The Saints led 43-30 at the half and outscored DME by 11 in the third quarter to take a 69-45 lead into the final period.
Zoe Alexander, a freshman out of Dr. Phillips High school, scored 16 points for the Saints while Danasia Bogle had 14 points, three steals and three assists off the bench.
"Bogle gave us a great spark off the bench," said Stebbins. "Taniah Bowers played hard and was difference maker with five steals and four assists."
SF (18-10, 7-1 MFC) will finish up their regular season when they travel to Jacksonville to take on FSC-J next Saturday at 2 pm.
The Saints have clinched their second consecutive Mid-Florida Conference Championship and will advance to the NJCAA Region VIII/FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville, Fla. March 5-7.
