Eastern Florida Tops Women’s Basketball, 95-55
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Santa Fe women's basketball couldn't keep pace with visiting Eastern Florida State College, as the Titans came away with a 95-55 victory inside the SF Gymnasium onMonda evening.
First Quarter – EF 20, SF 10
Sant Fe scored the game's first four points on a Zoé Alexander blow-by and Jasani Buchanan bucket.
The Titans, however, proceeded to go on a 20-2 run, and led by double-digits after the first.
Second Quarter – EF 44, SF 22
Eastern Florida extended their lead to 28-10, netting the quarter's first eight points.
Peris Starks had five points in the frame, but SF trailed by 22 at the half.
Third Quarter – EF 61, SF 36
Santa Fe came out of the locker room ready to compete despite the deficit, and held the Titans to just 17 points in the quarter while scoring 14.
Alexander had five points in the third quarter to lead the Saints.
Fourth Quarter – EF 95, SF 55
The Titans continued to enforce their will, and went on for the 95-55 victory.
Andrea Torres had two three-pointers down the stretch, while Alexis Smith and Patricia Njeanwobe each had their first baskets for the Saints this season.
Key Statistics
Torres led the way offensively with 13 points, including three triples. Alexander had ten, and Buchanan contributed eight.
Starks' seven points was a season-high.
