Women's Basketball Season Concludes with 63-42 Defeat at Eastern Florida
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Santa Fe women's basketball concluded their season on Monday evening at Eastern Florida State College, and after the Saints trailed by just one at the half, the Titans separated with a big third quarter run and went on to win 63-42.
First Quarter – EFSC 11, SF 11
The two teams played to a tie after the first quarter.
Jasani Buchanan had four first-quarter points for the Saints, and Lauren Carmona had a three-pointer.
Second Quarter – EFSC 24, SF 23
The Saints' defense continued to give the Titans troubles, and Eastern Florida led by just one point at the halftime whistle.
Andrea Torres hit a triple in the quarter.
Third Quarter – EFSC 45, SF 31
Eastern Florida scored the third quarter's first nine points, forcing a Saints timeout, with the Titans leading 33-23.
Santa Fe's offense produced just eight points in the frame, and faced a 14-point deficit headed into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter – EFSC 63, SF 42
Carmona had another three-pointer in the final quarter, and the final point for SF came from Zoé Alexander at the free-throw line in the final seconds of a 63-42 defeat.
Key Statistics
Buchanan led the Saints with 11 points.
Taniah Bowers had three points and tied for a team-high with ten rebounds, while Carmona finished with nine points and ten rebounds.

"I was proud of the first half, but we just didn't open up the third quarter with the stops we needed," said Head Coach Chanda Stebbins.
Santa Fe (5-15, 4-11 CC) concludes the season with the loss. The Saints won two of their last four games, including a road win at No. 20 St. Petersburg.
