Curry an FCSAA All-State/NJCAA All-Region 8 Selection
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - For the second time in her career, Aleisha Curry of Santa Fe College women's basketball was honored as an FCSAA All-State/NJCAA All-Region 8 performer.
The complete list of 2021-2022 honorees is included in the FCSAA release: FCSAA announces women's All-State team; Poa voted Player of the YearIn her Saints career, Curry ranks No. 1 in program history in offensive rebounds (349) and No. 4 in total rebounds (534).
After suffering an injury that forced her to miss the entire 2020-21 season, Curry worked hard to get back on the floor for the Saints. "The recovery process was hard, but I surrounded myself with supportive people," said Curry. "There were days when I wanted to quit and I thought it was too hard, but the people around me wanted to see me prosper and strive for greatness. With any recovery you have to have a positive mindset, and I believe that helped push me to want to get better."

Curry's 2021-2022 resume includes:
- Averaging a double-double with 13.8 points per game and team-highs in rebounds per game (10.2), blocks per game (1.2), and field goal percentage (52.9)
- Being one of just two players in Region 8 to average a double-double, ranking No. 2 in the FCSAA in rebounding average and No. 22 in the NJCAA (10.2)
- Currently ranking No. 3 in the NJCAA in offensive rebounds per game (6.2)
- Compiling 12 double-doubles
- A career-high 35 points to go along with 19 rebounds in the season opener at Hillsborough
- Two NJCAA Player of the Week awards | Story 1 | Story 2
- Three FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week Awards
