Women's Basketball Drops Neutral Court Matchup with East Georgia
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Santa Fe College Women's Basketball suffered their first defeat of the 2022-2023 season in a neutral court matchup with East Georgia State College, 75-68.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was hosted by Florida State College at Jacksonville, and it was the Bobcats that led most of the way in their season-opener before holding off a second-half surge from the Saints.
SF fell into an early 23-11 deficit after the first quarter but were able to trim the gap to just three points, 34-31, at the halftime whistle.
The Bobcats were able to keep in front in the third frame and extended the advantage to nine points.
SF drew to within a single possession with 1:11 to go, but the fourth quarter comeback wasn't to be as East Georgia made the plays needed down the stretch to preserve the win.
