Women's Basketball Dictates Play in 76-60 Result over Tallahassee
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Santa Fe College women's basketball met Tallahassee Community College for the second time this season, and the Saints led for over 38 minutes inside the SF Gymnasium to knock off the Eagles and improve to 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tallahassee scored the game's opening bucket, but that would prove to be the only lead for the Eagles the rest of the way.
An 11-1 run catapulted the Saints to an 11-3 lead at the midway point of the opening quarter. Joey Delancy netted five quick points during the stretch of play.
The lead grew to as large as 12 points in the first quarter at 20-8 after a Khalea Douglas free-throw, and SF led 20-10 at the end of the frame.
Tallahassee made a little push towards the end of the second quarter and whittled the deficit down to six, but the Saints concluded the half with six unanswered points to lead 40-28 at the half. The Saints had eight different players score in the first 20 minutes of action and were outrebounding the Eagles 32-13 while putting up twice as many attempts at the basket.
The lead extended to 19, 49-30, as Santa Fe took control early in the third quarter.
As the final minutes played out, SF kept TCC at arms-length, never allowing the Eagles any closer than 14 points.
The lead grew to as large as 23 points on a basket in the paint from Irene Kabassubabo with a little under six minutes to play, and SF cruised to a 76-60 victory with the complete performance, the second win over the Eagles.

KEY STATISTICS
SF outrebounded the Eagles, 60-42, and 26 of the rebounds came on the offensive end.
Defensively, the Saints held Tallahassee to just 27.9 percent from the floor and forced 25 Eagles' turnovers.
Malea Brown and Selah Reddick were all-over the court, and each finished with double-doubles. Brown had 15 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, while Reddick added 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, one off her career-best mark.
Delancy was the game's leading scorer, as she poured in a season-high 19 on 8-of-15 shooting from the field.
Brown and Triniti Youngblood each dished out five assists, as the Saints set a new season-high with 19 assists as a team.
Off the bench, Irene Kabassubabo had her best game as a Saint, contributing eight points and seven rebounds.

Santa Fe will be hosting the Best Western Gateway Grand Classic on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19.
The day's play begins on Friday with No. 13 Eastern Florida vs. No. 18 Florida Southwestern at 5:00 p.m., and then the Saints will take the floor with Miami Dade for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
