No. 7 Northwest Florida Pulls Away from Women's Basketball, 84-49
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The season's second Best Western Gateway Grand Classic got underway on Thursday for Santa Fe College women's basketball, and the Saints fell victim to an impressive performance by No. 7 Northwest Florida State College. The Raiders were in control in the opening half and ran away with an 84-49 victory inside the SF Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Raiders led by 20 points after the opening quarter, 31-11, not hesitating to set the tone in the first matchup between the two sides this season. A 17-3 Raider run ended the frame…
The first eight points of the second quarter also went to NWF, and the Saints were having trouble slowing the efficient shooting from the Raiders.
The first half lead grew to as large as 35 points, and still sat at 54-19 as the two teams headed into the locker rooms. The Raiders had made six triples in the opening half and were shooting 57.6 percent from the field.
Although NWF did extend its lead to the largest of the game at 43 points in the third quarter, the Saints' started to find some scoring.
Although the outcome was never in doubt, each side scored 30 points apiece over the final 20 minutes of action.

KEY STATISTICS
SF was held to just 25.4 percent from the field, matching a season-low percentage.
The Saints, who typically have been dominant on the glass, were outrebounded 47-30.
When SF made it to the free-throw line, the Saints shot 11-of-14.
Offensively, Brown was the lone Saint in double-digit scoring, putting in 23 points with four triples. Joey Delancy led SF with seven rebounds, and Selah Reddick dished out a team-high four assists.
