Titans Prove To Be Too Much For Saints
Saints lose big against the conference leading Titans
Melbourne, FL- The Saints faced a tough opponent in the conference leading Eastern Florida State College Titans. They seemed out matched and out manned as they fell big 97-52. The Titans entered the matchup with a record of 5-3 and are a on 4 game win streak. After starting the season with a strong record of 4-1, the Saints now find themselves in a three game skid and fighting to remain above .500 as they travel deeper into conference play.
The Titans jumped out early at a dizzying pace on the Saints scoring the first 12 points of the game. The only thing that seemed to slow them down in the first quarter was a triple and a free throw hit by #3 Khaleah Douglas. However, the Titans would not relent as they went on to score a total of 28 points in the first quarter to only 6 points by the Saints, who continued to struggle for the rest of the second half as the score was 55-19 by the end of the half.
As the second half opened, the Saints came out with more energy as they increased the pressure on the Titans each time they to matriculate up and down the court. This seemed to help to slow down the Titan's attack, but proved to not be enough. The Titans would continue to show why they are number one in the conference by standing firm against the attempted rally of the Saints. #32 Amelia Hassett led the way offensively for the Tiatans by hitting 5 triples from down town. Offensively, the Saints were led by #3 Khaleah Douglas who score another triple in the second half. The Saints will look to recover and be prepared for more action on Wednesday against Daytona State College @ home @ 5pm.
