
Big Win For Santa Fe at FSW
Fort Myers, FL- On Saturday, the Saints traveled down to Florida Southwestern College to face the Buccaneers (14-12) for another conference matchup. Saints win 72-63.
How It Happened
Santa Fe came out in the first quarter strong. Joey Delancy and Khaleah Douglas fueled the Saints with early scoring and solid defensive play. The Saints scored 18 points in the first quarter, led by Joey Delancy, who scored 11 points.
Bringing in the second quarter, Camryn Robinson scored a three-pointer right out of the gate. Robinson had three triples on the day. Makenna Shaffer of Florida Southwestern hit two triples in the first half & a total of six triples on the day. The half ended with Santa Fe up 37-29.
Midway through the third quarter, Ashley Lester of Florida Southwestern tied the game up with a three-pointer making the score 41-41. Joey Delancy had a three pointer and a key steal with just over two minutes left. Aissoutu Diallo scored a layup with an assist from Khalea Douglas. Santa Fe kept the lead ending the third quarter at 55-49.
At the start of the fourth quarter, both teams struggled with shooting from the floor. Santa Fe stayed aggressive with the ball on offense & defense. With just under five minutes left in the game, Robinson scored a three-pointer. This was followed up by FSW scoring a three-pointer. Kamryn Robinson responded with another three pointer putting the Saints up by ten points. Ending their three game losing streak, Santa Fe pulled out a much needed win 72-63.
