Saints Drop Tough Match in Four to Pasco-Hernando
Santa Fe College volleyball ran into a buzz saw against Pasco Hernando State College dropping the match in four sets 24-26, 25-19, 16-25, 20-25.
"We were out played in every phase of the game," said SF head coach, Nick Cheronis. "Hats off to Pasco, they played one great match from beginning to end."
The Saints were led by Maddie Sheffield and Mikayla Collins with 9 kills each, but the team only managed to hit .148 for the match.
"We had 88 digs in the match and still lost. That tells you how well they played", added Cheronis. "If there is a silver lining at least it didn't happen at the Region 8 tournament. We will learn from this and get better, I guarantee it."
The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Saints who won the Panhandle Conference Championship earlier this month. SF (9-12, 5-1 PC) are off until the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Volleyball Tournament which will be held in Jacksonville Nov, 1-3.
