Jacksonville State Adds Volleyball's Katelyn Crofts
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The all-time leader in blocks in Santa Fe College Volleyball history, Katelyn Crofts, has signed to continue her collegiate career with Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala.
Crofts, a Gainesville, Fla. native and graduate of The Rock, has been a dominant presence from her middle blocker position during her three-year career with the Saints.
No. 16 earned All Mid-Florida Conference First Team honors as a true freshman during the 2020-2021 season, then concluded her SF career with All-Suncoast Conference Second Team honors in 2022-2023.
In 2022, Crofts played in all 22 matches, ranking second on the team in kills (166) and kills/set (2.18). She paced the Saints with a .291 attack percentage and racked up a team-high 67 total blocks (12 block solos, 55 block assists). The block total ranked No. 3 in the FCSAA...Additionally, she toseed up 25 service aces.
In her three seasons with the Saints, Crofts compiled:
- 393 total kills (2.02 kills/set)
- A .290 hitting percentage
- 210 total blocks (65 solos, 145 block assists)
Crofts has been the most illustrious blocker in the history of the program, and holds the program records for total blocks (210). She also holds the record for hitting percentage in a match, hitting .722 with 13 kills in a sweep of FSCJ on Feb. 24, 2021.
Jacksonville State Volleyball is coached by Derek Schroeder, who was just hired in May of 2023 after winning five conference titles in previous stops at Samford and Mercer.
The Gamecocks went 24-6 overall and 12-4 in the NCAA Division I ASUN Conference in 2022, and now add Crofts to bolster the front row.
