Santa Fe traveled to Fort Myers looking for their first conference win of the season. Both the Saints and Bucs were coming off of a loss to Miami Dade. Santa Fe was swept in straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-9, and 25-20.
The Saints did a lot of work on the defensive side of the net totaling nine blocks through the three sets. Maria Contreras was the team's leading blocker, with three in total. Mariana Haas and Maria Freitas led the team with five kills a piece, while Aria Eisel had nine digs to lead all Saints. Contreras also led the Saints with 12 assists.
Santa Fe is back in action on Wednesday, September 25th at 6:00 PM in Gainesville. SF will look to win their first Citrus Conference match of the season when Polk State comes to town.
