Santa Fe College hosted Florida Southwestern in their second match of the season. The Bucs won in consecutive sets 9-25, 20-25, and 17-25 to improve to 16-1 (8-1), while the Saints fall to 10-10 (1-7).
Santa Fe was led by Mariana Haas, the Freshman Outside Hitter, with seven kills. The Saints started slow in the opening set but were able to bounce back in set two to stick close with the second ranked team in the NJCAA. Madison Villanueva and Maria Freitas both had a solo block. Villanueva and Maria Contreras had two assisted blocks, while Freitas had one block assist.
Santa Fe is back in action Thursday night as Andrew College comes to Gainesville. This marks the final nonconference match of the season for SF. The first serve is set for 5:00 PM.
