Bio
Joshua Altman, MD, earned his medical degree in 2015 from the University of Florida College of Medicine and joined the faculty of the department of orthopaedics and rehabilitation at the University of Florida in June 2020.
He completed his intern year in 2015 in emergency medicine at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA and remainder of residency in emergency medicine at the University of Florida. Following residency, he completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at UF in 2020.
He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine as well as the American College of Emergency Physicians and Florida College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Altman has volunteered with numerous organizations such as the Five Points of Life Gainesville Marathon, medical volunteer at Allegheny Health Network Sports Complex in Pittsburgh, PA and a member of the Allegheny Health Network Disaster Committee. Throughout his training, he was actively involved with medical coverage at Gainesville High School and Newberry High School. Along with acting as a team physician for Santa Fe College, he provides care as a team physician for sports teams at local high schools.
Dr. Altman is Board Certified by the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.
