
Mathes, Eyster Homer to Lead Saints Past Lake Sumter, 14-4
Gainesville, FL – For the second straight game the NJCAA #7 Santa Fe Saints (30-6, 11-2 MFC) forced the mercy rule against Lake Sumter State College, defeating the Lakehawks 14-4 in five innings, two days after a 10-2 win in seven innings on Saturday.

Max McKinley was on the hill for the Saints and pitched all five innings, allowing four earned runs.
Santa Fe staked McKinley to a 5-0 lead after the first innings, thanks in part to a three run homerun from Andrew Eyster, his 11th of the season.
The Saints added a pair in the second and put the game away in the fifth, scoring seven runs to end the game via run rule.
Garrett Mathes homered in the fifth, part of a five hit, four walk inning for the Saints. The final two runs of the bottom of the fifth came on bases loaded walks.
Santa Fe had 12 hits as a team and drew eight base on balls. Mathes finished 3-for-4 with a homerun and three RBI. Andrew Eyster was 2-for-4 with a homerun, three runs scored and four RBI. Jarrett Pico had two hits and Haydn Cano knocked in two runs.
The Saints will finish their three game series with Lake Sumter on Wednesday, April 4 in Leesburg at 3:00 p.m.
