Becker Honored as FCSAA Pitcher of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Trent Becker of No. 16 Santa Fe Baseball had another solid outing from the mound for the Saints, and his win over St. Petersburg earned him recognition as the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on TUesday afternoon.
Becker was in complete control from the hill in an 11-1 win for SF over visiting St. Petersburg on Feb. 11.
The lefty from Trenton, Fla. moved to a record of 2-0 with the performance, when he allowed just four hits and one walk in seven scoreless innings of work. Becker had every pitch working for him and matched his career-high with eight strikeouts.
On the season, Becker has been in good form in his two starts and three total appearances, totaling 16 strikeouts while posting an ERA of just 0.60.
Becker and the Saints are next scheduled to play at Tallahassee Community College on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 3:00 p.m.
