
Seminole State Takes Series over SF Baseball with 13-3 Win
SANFORD, Fla. – In the third and decisive game in a Mid-Florida Conference series, Seminole State College played host to Santa Fe Baseball, and the Raiders scored early and often on their way to a six-inning, 13-3 win over the Saints.
Three first inning home runs for the Raiders made it a 3-0 game early, and the lead extended to 5-0 after the completion of two innings from "The Jack."
Santa Fe was unable to get their bats going until the top of the fourth, when Xavier Moronta doubled in Tyler Shelnut for SF's first run.
Seminole State scored twice in the fourth and once more in the fifth to establish an 8-1 lead, when SF proceeded to take what proved to be their final at-bats in the top of the sixth.
Moronta once again had an RBI double and Santiago Garavito had a sacrifice fly, but the Raiders activated the run-rule with two doubles and two more home runs in their next at-bats. The final longball was a walk off.
Key Statistics
Balls were popping off the Raider bats with nine of the thirteen hits going for extra-bases. Seminole State had three doubles and six home runs.
SF's three hits in the game came from Jevin Relaford with a single and Moronta's RBI doubles.
Tobin Moran (2-3) was the starter on the mound and was charged with the loss, while Jalen Hudson, Jacob Lauderdale, and Gavin Book each made appearances out of the bullpen.
