
No. 10 Baseball Earns Win No. 39, 11-3 over No. 1 CF
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 10 Santa Fe College Baseball (39-8, 15-8 MFC) concluded the 2023 regular season with another run-rule win over No. 1 College of Central Florida, 11-3 in seven innings played. The win was victory No. 39, setting a new program-record for regular-season wins.
The victory was also the Saints' fourth this season over the Patriots in the two teams' eight matchups, with all four of the SF wins coming with the Patriots ranked atop the NJCAA Division I poll.
GAME-CHANGING PLAYS…
The Saints were spraying the ball all over the field, and produced runs in six of the game's seven innings.
Josh Hogue's two-out home run to right field in the second inning brought the score to 4-0, and those two runs would prove to be enough to keep the Saints in front the entirety of the contest.
CF plated three runs in the top of the third to draw within a single run, but the rest of the game belonged to the SF bats.
TEAM COMPARISON
SF amassed 17 hits to just four for the Patriots.
CF had two defensive errors, while the Saints committed one.
All four of the Patriots' hits were singles, while SF combined for seven extra-base hits (six doubles, one home run).

Game 1 is Friday, May 5 at 6:00 p.m., Game 2 will be played on Saturday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m., and if necessary, the third and final game will be on Sunday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. The winner advances to Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla. for a four-team, double-elimination bracket to determine the 2023 FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Champion.
