
Moran Signs on with the University of Tampa Baseball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Mid-Florida Conference Pitcher of the Year Tobin Moran will be taking his pitching prowess to the University of Tampa.
Moran is from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. and prior to SF, he attended Palm Beach Gardens High School. At SF, he studied Sport Management.
2023 was his second season with the Saints, and he was a breakout sophomore after making 12 appearances with three games started for SF as a freshman in 2022.
Moran was an ace for the Saints as one of the NJCAA's best pitchers, and he was recently named the Mid-Florida Conference Pitcher of the Year. In his 15 appearances and 14 games started, the righty posted a record of 8-1. In 86.0 innings pitched, Moran struck out 71 hitters while walking just nine…His 2.51 ERA led the team and ranked No. 2 in the FCSAA (with minimums set for innings pitched). Tobin stood above the rest when he was named the NJCAA Pitcher of the Week on March 29 following a masterful complete game shutout of then No. 1 College of Central Florida on March 22 in Ocala.
University of Tampa Baseball is coached by Joe Urso, who is currently in his 23rd season helping to establish the program as a powerhouse in all of college baseball. The Spartans have won five national championships since 2006, and excel in the Sunshine State Conference and NCAA Division II.
