Gainesville, FL.
Sophomore Anthony Fimiano has decided to continue his collegiate career at the Florida Institute of Technology.
Fimiano is originally from Plantation, FL, where he played varsity baseball for St. Thomas Aquinas. He signed to Santa Fe directly after high school, leading to him play catcher for the Saints for the first two years of his collegiate career.
In his two years as a Saint, Fimiano played in 53 games and tallied 137 at bats, hitting for an impressive career batting average of .292. During those 53 games, he earned 40 hits and 19 RBIs, simultaneously posting a remarkable fielding percentage of .982 in his sophomore year, one of the highest on the team.
Florida Institute of Technology is a NCAA Division II program that competes in the Sunshine State Conference. The Panthers baseball program is headed by Jeff Tam, who was named the head coach in December of 2021. Prior to the head coaching role, Tam served as the assistant coach for the Panthers for three years. Florida Institute of Technology has made five NCAA Division II tournament appearances, with the most recent coming in 2013.
