
Saints Jump on Bobcats Early
Pasco-Hernando State College traveled up to Gainesville, Florida for the midweek nonconference game at Harry Tholen Field.

Santa Fe got their bats going early and did not look back knocking Pasco-Hernando State College off 8-3. The Saints scored three first inning runs to take an early lead and set the tone for the ball game. A two spot in the second inning extended the lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The Saints scored three more runs in the sixth inning to take an 8-0 lead. Pasco-Hernando then scored three runs in the seventh. That was all the scoring for the ball game as Macklin Miller shut the doors in the ninth inning.
Erik Blair and Javier Soto both had multi-hit games, both driving one run in and scoring one run. Ryan Chase hit a two-run homerun in the sixth inning that left Harry Tholen Field. Griffin Sorrow reached base three times, going 1-3 and drawing two walks. Sorrow came around to score two runs.
Brady Wright received the start on the mound going 5.0 innings allowing one hit. Wright struck out three and walked three as he was rewarded with the win.
The Saints are back in action on Thursday when Daytona State college comes to town for the start of the second conference series.
