
Yarborough and Lord Start in the Bigs
Ryan Yarborough and Brad Lord, Santa Fe College alum begin their Major League Baseball season at the highest level.

Ryan Yarborough and Brad Lord begin the 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) season at the top. Yarborough is beginning his 8th year in the MLB, while Lord has spent the last two seasons in the minor leagues and will make his big league debut this season. Lord, a 2020 graduate of Santa Fe transferred to South Florida in 2021 to complete his four-year degree. Yarborough continued his career at Old Dominion in 2012 before being a 4th round Draft pick.
Yarborough began his MLB career in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays. In 2023 and 2024 he played for three different teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Toronto Bluejays, and the Kansas City Royals. Yarborough opens the season with the New York Yankees as a bullpen pitcher. During his time in the bigs, Yarborough is 53-40 with a 4.21 Earned Run Average (ERA). The former Saint has thrown in 768 innings and is one strikeout away from career number 600.
Lord will begin his first season in the MLB this Spring with the Washington Nationals. Beginning his MLB career in the bullpen. In the two seasons Lord has thrown in the Minor Leagues, he is 14-10 with a 3.15 ERA. Lord has appeared in 234.1 innings, striking out 219 batters, while only walking 77.
