No. 23 Men's Basketball Claims Win No. 10, 80-65 over SCF
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 23 Santa Fe College men's basketball (10-1) extended their winning streak to six games, taking the first game of a back-to-back with the State College of Florida, 80-65.
The matchup followed a similar script to most of the Saints' previous outings on their home floor, as they started fast in the opening half and held on comfortably in the second
First Half – SF 43, SCF 23
The Saints produced the game's first eight points, which featured two three-pointers from Brandon Farmer.
Leading 10-6 with 16:12 on the clock, the Saints started a 17-2 run, holding SCF to just two points in a span of a little over eight minutes.
In the final five minutes of the half, the story was Hasan Abdul-Hakim's shot-making. No. 11 heated up and accounted for the Saints' final 14 points of the frame, finding his mark on four three-pointers.
The Saints' largest lead of the half of 20 came at the final whistle after the fourth three from Abdul-Hakim.
Santa Fe continued their hot shooting from the perimeter, and canned 9-of-15 attempts from beyond the arc in the opening half.
Second Half – SF 80, SCF 65
The Manatees were able to cut the deficit to 13 points, 46-33, with 16:24 remaining.
SF held them at bay and widened the gap to as large as 22 points, 60-38, after another triple from Farmer at the 11:44 mark.
The Saints did well to handle any defensive pressure SCF threw at them the rest of the way, took care of the ball, and went on for the 15-point victory.

The Saints never trailed in the first meeting of the season with the Manatees (9-5).
SF held SCF to the 23 points in the opening half on an ice-cold 10-of-33 from the field, establishing the sizeable 20-point lead at the break. It was the fourth time this season the Saints led by 20 points or more at halftime on the home floor.
Abdul-Hakim was the high-point man for the Saints, finishing with 21 points on 7-of-15 from the field and 5-of-7 from downtown. The wing also tied for the team-high with eight rebounds.
Farmer had 14 points, which included four triples, while Douglas (13) and Mann (11) were the others in double-digits. Douglas approached a triple-double, adding a career-high 11 assists and eight rebounds.
On his birthday, guard Nicolas McClain added eight points and six rebounds.
