
Da Campo of Men's Basketball Headed to Winona State
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Forward Leonardo Da Campo of Santa Fe College Men's Basketball has signed on to continue his academic and basketball career at Winona State University in Winona, Minn.
Da Campo is from Bassano Del Grappo, Italy, and he attended Alexandria International School prior to attending Santa Fe.
2021-2022 was Da Campo's second season with the Saints, and he played in 12 games (starting in nine) prior to injury. For the Central Conference Champions, he averaged 5.6 points per game on 51.8 percent shooting and tied a career-high with 13 points against Miami Dade on Nov. 12.
As a freshman in 2020-2021, the 6'8" post player played and started in 19 games on his way to averaging 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He led SF in field-goal percentage (45.4), and also shot 35 percent from beyond the arc. Da Campo contributed on the defensive side of the floor as well to claim recognition from his team as the "Best Defender."
Academically, Da Campo excelled to earn a perfect GPA while studying political science.
Winona State Men's Basketball is coached by Todd Eisner, and the team finished 2021-2022 with a record of 15-11 overall and 11-9 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) of NCAA Division II. Eisner is headed into his eighth season at Winona State and 25th overall collegiately, having won over 500 career games.
Da Campo is now the third men's basketball commitment to a four-year program to be announced so far on santafesaints.com.
Santa Fe's 2021-2022 season went down as one of the program's best, and concluded with a 24-6 mark overall, a Central Conference Championship, and an appearance at the FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII State Tournament.
