No. 13 Tallahassee Knocks Off Men's Basketball, 90-73
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Santa Fe College men's basketball faced its first ranked opponent in the 2022-2023 season when it traveled to play No. 13 Tallahassee Community College.
The Eagles were able to pick up their fifth consecutive win, 90-73, while the Saints dropped a third-straight outing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints got off to a strong start against the Eagles and held a 14-13 lead after a Jalen Speer layup with 12:38 on the opening half clock.
TCC produced the game's next ten points, however, making it an uphill battle for the Saints the rest of the way.
The Saints trailed 46-30 in the opening half's final minute, but Cole Deptula's three-pointer brought the teams into the locker room with the score at 46-33.
Santa Fe came to within four points, 50-46, with a 7-0 run in the beginning of the second half, but that would prove to be the closest SF would come.
Leading 56-51, TCC took complete control of the game with a 21-2 run, as the Saints' offense went dry for a spell and couldn't keep pace.
