Seven from Softball Claim Mid-Florida Conference Honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - End of the season softball awards were handed out by the Mid-Florida Conference on Monday afternoon, with Santa Fe College softball having seven student-athletes receive postseason recognition. Four were selected to the First Team, while three were tabbed to the Second Team.

- A sophomore transfer from Eckerd College who immediately made an impact from the circle in her first season with the Saints, appearing in 30 games with 24 starts and a team-high 155 innings pitched.
- The Chiefland, Fla. native posted a record of 15-9 overall, with her 15 wins leading the team and ranking No. 8 in the FCSAA.
- Picked up one save against Indian River State College on Jan. 27...
- Amassed 14 complete games, three of which were shutouts.
- Struck out a season-high 12 batters in the dominant, 11-0 win over St. Johns River on Feb. 7.
- Held an earned-run-average of just 2.12, coming in at No. 14 in the FCSAA.
- Her 116 strikeouts were the eighth-highest amount of K's in the state...

Sydney Fowler, All Mid-Florida Conference First Team
- A true freshman with the Saints that contributed as a hitter, shortstop, and pitcher over 51 games played.
- The New Port Richey, Fla. native led the team in at-bats with 174, posting impressive totals with a .322 average, .350 on-base percentage, and .511 slugging percentage.
- Ranked No. 2 on the team with 56 hits, which included a team-high 12 doubles to go along with seven home runs.
- Accounted for 33 runs scored...
- Paced SF with 35 RBI to rank No. 25 in the FCSAA, and could be counted on to put the ball in play with only five strikeouts.
- Helped turn five double plays defensively...
- Made 15 appearances and five starts from the circle, possessing a record of 3-3 with one save in 45.2 innings pitched.
- Held an ERA of 3.07 and compiled 24 strikeouts.

Abrianna Hickox, All Mid-Florida Conference First Team
- A third-year sophomore who takes home First Team recognition after being named to the Second Team in 2022...
- A catcher/designated player from Callahan, Fla. that was one of the Saints' big bats throughout the 2023 season.
- Appeared in all 52 games, leading SF with 60 hits on 12 doubles and seven home runs.
- Came across to score 34 runs, which ranked No. 2 for SF.
- Drove in 29 runs and slashed for a .377 average, .459 on-base percentage, and .585 slugging percentage.
- Recorded a hit in 11 of the Saints' first 12 games this season, and had 17 multi-hit games.
- Caught nine baserunners stealing with her arm from behind the plate.

Keeli Zingaro, All Mid-Florida Conference First Team
- A sophomore with the Saints, who takes home First Team recognition after being named to the Second Team in 2022...
- The Trenton, Fla. native and Stetson University transfer produced from the heart of the lineup for SF.
- Despite playing just 31 games due to an injury, Zingaro ranked No. 2 on the team with 33 RBI.
- She was highly effective from the plate, compiling 38 hits and 23 runs scored on nine doubles, a triple, and team-high eight home runs.
- Her .404 batting average led the Saints, as did her .477 on-base-percentage and .777 slugging percentage.
- Ended the season with a flourish from the plate, hitting in nine of the final ten outings...
- Had 12 multi-hit games, including a two home-run, five RBI game against Daytona State on Apr. 15.

Sophie Abrams, All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team
- Abrams repeated as a Second Team honoree after also earning the distinction in 2022.
- A Jacksonville, Fla. native who completed her third season in the MFC, after beginning her career at the College of Central Florida.
- Served as one of the two primary pitchers for SF, making 31 appearances with 23 starts and 131.0 innings pitched.
- The righty compiled a record of 11-9 with one save (Apr. 1 against No. 10 Seminole) and seven complete games.
- Held a 3.53 ERA and struck out 59 hitters on the season.
- Matched a career-high with 8 strikeouts in a 3-0, complete game shutout over Daytona State on Mar. 25.

Jayelyn Carter, All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team
- Carter completed her fourth season with the Saints in 2023, with 2020 shortened due to COVID-19.
- The Gainesville native has put the SF jersey on more than any other player in program-history, and the All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team distinction is the third of her career.
- Carter appeared in 50 games for the Saints in 2023, slotted in at the centerfield position and more often than not serving as the leadoff hitter.
- Her 37 runs and 21 stolen bases led SF.
- With 47 hits, two doubles, 15 walks, and 18 RBI, Carter posted a .301 average and .382 on-base percentage.
- Carter recorded hits in 18 of the team's final 19 games, with a hit streak reaching 17 games.

Ariana Wright, All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team
- Ariana Wright joined the Saints mid-season after transferring from Virginia Tech University.
- The freshman from Canton, Ga. was the regular designated player for SF, bringing a powerful bat into the Saints' lineup.
- In 27 games played, Wright accumulated 22 hits on four doubles, two triples, and a team-high eight home runs.
- Wright drove in 24 runs with her bat, and finished with a statistical line of a .293 average, .393 on-base percentage, and .720 slugging percentage (No. 2 on the team...)
- The slugger had two home runs and six RBI in a 22-3 thrashing of Daytona State on Apr. 15.
