Miami, FL
In game one of the days doubleheader the Saints came up just short in a 5-4 loss. Both teams started scoring early as the Saints scored one in the top of the first and Miami Dade scored two in the bottom of the first. Both teams scored a single run in the third and fourth innings as SF trailed 4-3 heading to the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning the Sharks extended their lead to 5-3. The Saints scored one in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as Miami held on for the win.
Madison Conway highlighted the Santa Fe line up going 2-4 with a solo homerun. Conway was the only Saint with multiple hits in the game. Ryleigh Baurer got the ball for SF going 6.0 innings allowing eight hits and five runs. Bauer struck out six and walked four in the game.
In game two of the day Miami Dade walked it off in the bottom of the seventh inning to take down SF 3-1. Through the first six innings of the ball game, the offenses were no where to be seen. The Saints struck first in the top of the sixth inning with a solo run. In the bottom of the seventh, the Sharks had two aboard when the three-run walk off homerun was blasted over the centerfield wall.
Conway had the only RBI of the game for SF going 2-3 in the game. Belle Mancillas went the distance allowing five hits and three runs. Mancillas struck out two and did not allow a walk.
Santa Fe is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Seminole State College of Florida for a 1:00 PM first pitch.
