Santa Fe played host to Miami Dade College on Saturday afternoon.

In game one of the two-game doubleheader, the Saints held a lead the entire game to win 11-6. SF scored four runs in the first inning before a three spot in the fourth helped SF take a 7-0 lead. Miami Dade scored three runs in the top of the fifth to show their fight late. Another run for The Sharks cut the lead to 7-4. However, Santa Fe had other plans with a four-run sixth inning to take an 11-4 lead. Miami Dade did score two in the seventh.
Camryn VanGalder led the team with three hits on the afternoon, while McKenzie Jewell and Madison Conway had two hits and multiple runs batted in. Olivia LaMeau, Brooke Markiewicz, and Sydney English all had two hit performances as well. Ryleigh Bauer started on the mound for SF, completing 5.1. Bauer allowed four runs while striking out four and walking two.
In game two of the doubleheader, the Saints got outstanding pitching from Ryleigh Bennett to take a 5-0 win. The Saints scored one run in both the first and third innings to take an early 2-0 lead. A three-run homerun from Jewell extended the Santa Fe lead to 5-0 in the sixth inning.
LaMeau was the only Santa Fe player with more than one hit in the ball game. LaMeau and English both had one RBI, while Jewell drove in three runs. Bennet pitched the completed game, allowing four hits, striking out seven, and walking just two.
Santa Fe is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Daytona State for a 2:00 PM first pitch.
