Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took on FCSAA #2 Tallahassee CC on Tuesday evening with only eight active players and came out on the losing end to the Eagles, 91-67. FCSAA #6 SF gave everything they had against TCC but turnovers and rebounding proved to be the difference.
The Eagles grabbed an early lead and led 23-16 at the end of the first quarter. They stretched the lead to 53-34 at the halftime break. The Saints (2-1) improved in the second half but were never able to close the gap against the aggressive defense of the Eagles. Using a full court trapping press, Tallahassee was able to force 36 turnovers.
Two Santa Fe players scored in double figures. Stephanie Jackson had 13 points and Julie Fournier had 12. Gryselle Sepulveda, Ivana Boyd, and Janasia Law had nine points each.
