Law and the Saints Earn Spot at FCSAA Tournament

Gainesville, FL – The Saints came through when they needed to on Tuesday evening, defeating Florida State College-Jacksonville 76-47 to clinch the #2 seed from the Mid-Florida Conference at the FCSAA Tournament.

Gainesville, FL – The Saints came through when they needed to on Tuesday evening, defeating Florida State College-Jacksonville 76-47 to clinch the #2 seed from the Mid-Florida Conference at the FCSAA Tournament.
Janasia Law finished just two rebounds shy of a triple double in the winning effort, scoring 16 points to go with 11 assists, and eight rebounds.
Santa Fe (17-12, 6-3 MFC) began the game with a 17-13 lead through one quarter and stepped their defense up over the next 10 minutes, starting off on a 9-0 run, holding the Blue Wave to just eight points in the quarter.
Leading by 13 heading into the second half, the Saints again held serve on defense, limiting FSC-J to 12 points and led 52-33 after three quarters. 
SF capped the game with their best offensive quarter of the game, scoring 24 points to put away the 76-47 win.
Brianna Richardson scored in double figures for Santa Fe, finishing with 14 points and six rebounds.  Ivana Boyd had another solid two way game, scoring 14 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks.
The Saints have now qualified for 10 of the last 12 FCSAA Tournaments.  They will face off against Suncoast Conference champions, FCSAA #4 ranked Florida SouthWestern State College on Thursday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m.  Fans can watch every game of the tournament on the FCSAA Sports YouTube Channel
