Eastern Florida Gets the Better of SF Volleyball, 3-0
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe College Volleyball began their final week of the 2021 season with a 3-0 defeat to visiting Eastern Florida State College, 25-18, 25-12, 27-25 in Suncoast Conference play.
Set 1 – EFSC 25, SF 18
The Saints fell behind 14-8 in the early going, but an 8-2 run from the Saints tied it at 16-16.
A 6-1 run from the Titans, however, helped the visitors shut the door in the first set.
Set 2 – EFSC 25, SF 12
Set 2 was all Eastern Florida, as Santa Fe had no answer for the Titans' attack.
Set 3 – EFSC 27, SF 25
After falling behind 5-2, the Saints picked up their level of play and rattled off seven straight points to take a 9-5 lead. The run was capped off by a kill from Nicole DePaula.
SF led 12-7 after a Cali Conner kill, but the Titans were able to regain a lead with a 12-2 surge, going in front 19-14.
The Saints weren't done competing, however, and staked claim to a 23-20 lead with a 9-1 run. Katelyn Crofts was especially effective with her swings during the stretch of play, which concluded with an Emily Loose kill.
The next four points went to EFSC, and Crofts proceeded to save two match points against SF with kills. The final point came on a Saints' swing that went awry, however, and Santa Fell to their 13th consecutive defeat.

That match will also honor the following Saints' sophomores: Amelia MacCallum, Emily Loose, Abbey James, Kassidy Bolling, Emily Register, and Katelyn Crofts. Festivities will take place postgame.
