Santa Fe started the day with a five-set loss to Palm Beach State College in the second match of the IRSC tournament. The Saints won the first two sets against Palm Beach State, before falling in the final three sets. The scores in match one were 25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 15-25, and 11-15. 

Mariana Haas, Kailyn Howard, and Riley Solomon had 10 kills each in the Saints' first five-set match of the year. This is the first time the Saints have had three players in double figures in the kill category. Maria Contreras led the Saints at the net defensively with five blocks, while the team totaled 14 blocks. 

In the second match of the day, the Saints knock off the host school, Indian River State College, in five sets. Santa Fe jumped out to a lead in the match winning 25-20 in set one, before falling in set two. The Saints dominated set three 25-11 but fell 17-25 in the fourth set. In the winner-take-all all set five it was all SF winning 15-10. 

The Saints were led in the match by the freshman, Howard, who had a career-high 21 kills. Haas added 10 kills and Solomon added seven. SF had six team blocks, while Howard led the team with two.

Coach Bailey Coleman was excited about how the team fought against a couple of tough teams, stating, "The weekend really tested our hearts and the will to keep fighting. We Played against great teams with good ball control. It was a complete team effort to recoup from the loss and be confident going into the 2nd match. We finished our first 5 setter and they left it all out on the floor."

The Saints are back in action on Wednesday, September 4th, when they travel to St. Johns River State College to play at 5:00 PM.
