Saints Moving On: Volleyball
In 2014, Santa Fe College added Volleyball as the 5th sport to their portfolio that has sent many players to four-year institutions.
Gainesville, FL
In 2024, the Santa Fe College volleyball program currently has two former players active at the Division One level. Larissa Seger, a 2023 graduate of SF, transferred to Southern Illinois after graduation, while Katelyn Crofts, a 2022 graduate of SF, transferred to Jacksonville State University.
In Carbondale, Illinois, Larissa went on to play in 24 of SIU's 29 matches. Seger had a season high of 14 kills against Murray State University on October 26th. Seger averaged 7.2 Kills per match and totaled 195 kills during the season. In the same match versus Murray State, Seger set a season high for points with 20. Seger ranked third for SIU in both kills and total points. The former Saint went for 92 total blocks, 23 solo blocks, and 69 block assists, first in each category amongst all Saluki's. Seger set a season high seven blocks versus Missouri State on September 19th. Larissa Seger has one more year of eligibility at Southern Illinois University, so we wish her well on her 2025 season as she tries to become a legend with the Salukis
Katelyn Crofts did not play in 2023 due to injury but made an impact for Jacksonville State during her 26 matches in the 2024 season. Crofts set a season high 11 kills and 15 points versus Arkansas Pine-Bluff in late August. The senior totaled 109 kills and averaged 4.2 kills per match for the Gamecocks. The Gainesville, Florida native totaled 59 blocks on the season and set a career high with 8 blocks at UT-Chattanooga. Crofts was a force in the frontline as 16 of 59 blocks came by herself, while she totaled 43 block assists.
