Bio

Jason Vereb joined UF Health Shands Department of Orthopedics in December 2019. He works as an athletic trainer within the UF Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute while also acting as the outreach supervising athletic trainer for Santa Fe College athletics.

Originally from Indiana, Jason completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana University in 2001. He completed his Masters of Science degree at the University of Georgia in 2006 while working with the men's tennis program, the 2006 National Men’s Indoor Tennis Team Champion and the 2006 NCAA runner-up during the outdoor season. 

Prior to attending graduate school he worked as an assistant athletic trainer at Washington and Lee University from 2002-2004, working primarily with the soccer and baseball programs. After earning his graduate degree, he rose to an associate athletic trainer position at Butler University where he worked with the women’s volleyball and football teams from 2006-2008. Jason moved to Gainesville in 2008 and joined Lake Weir High School where he worked as the athletic trainer until 2012.

In 2012, he took a position with DJO Global where he worked with territory sales representatives in building and maintaining relationships with orthopedic offices, fitting and educating patients in the proper use of orthopedic braces and bone growth stimulators, and implementing and training physician office staff on the Motion MD billing and inventory software until he joined UF Health in 2019.
