Gainesville, FL – Sixteen players from the 2017 Mid-Florida Conference Champion Santa Febaseball team signed with NCAA schools or Major League Baseball

Gainesville, FL – For the second time in three days Santa Fe pitching stifled Northwest Florida State College bats. This time it was Sean Gabel who held the Raiders to just four hits in a complete game effort. He struck out six and didn’t allow a run after the first inning.

Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA Tournament opens up on May 5 in Lakeland at Joker Marchant Stadium, but for the first day of games, the Saints will be spectators due to a first round bye. The Mid-Florida Conference champions will watch Eastern Florida State College and Northwest Florida State College battle it out for the right to play the defending champs on Saturday, May 6. Every game of the tournament will be broadcast on the FCSAA YouTube channel.

The win moves SF (32-11, 15-5 MFC) within one half game of SJRSC (16-5 MFC) at the top of the MFC standings and gives them the tiebreaker, having beaten the Vikings three out of four. They have also now clinched a spot in the FCSAA Tournament in Lakeland at Joker Marchant Stadium, May 5-10.
