SF (10-6) dominated much of the first half, leading by as many as 14, but the Hawks scratched and clawed their way back in thanks in part to two late three pointers to cut the margin to 31-25 at the break.
HCC finished their rally by taking the lead at the 14 minute mark of the second half, their first advantage since the opening minute.
From there it was back and forth with six lead changes before a late run by the Saints, and made free throws by Tylan Birts and Allen Baez sealed the five point win.
Jaquel Taft led all scorers with 16 points and six rebounds, and Allen Baez had 15 points including 8-for-9 from the free throw line.
The Saints will take a few weeks off for the holidays and return to action on Sunday, January 4 against Wytheville CC at 2:00 PM.
